Sgt Doug “Moby” Henderson
Sgt. Doug “Moby” Henderson embarked on his law enforcement career in 1988 with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD), starting as a corrections deputy for just over a year before transitioning to dispatch. He graduated from the law enforcement academy in 1990 and became a deputy, marking the beginning of a lengthy and impactful career After several years of service in the towns of Kimball and Jasper, Sgt. Henderson returned to MCSD in December 2014 as a detective. His expertise and leadership led to his promotion as sergeant of the MCSD school resource program, where he plays a crucial role in ensuring safety within the schools. Additionally, he heads up the training program for the department, sharing his extensive knowledge with fellow officers. With over 30 years of dedicated service to the community, Sgt. Henderson’s commitment to public safety and youth development has made a lasting impact on those he serves. His experience and leadership continue to enhance the effectiveness of MCSD and its programs.

School Resource Deputy Amanda Campbell
Amanda Campbell began her journey with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) at the end of 2003 as a corrections deputy. After a year and a half in corrections, she transitioned to the dispatch center, where she served until 2006. Driven by her ambition to become a deputy, Amanda attended the law enforcement academy to achieve her goal. In 2017, Amanda found her true calling as a School Resource Deputy, where she has made a significant impact on the lives of students. She holds certifications for School Resource Deputy (SRD) and D.A.R.E., reflecting her commitment to education and youth safety. Amanda is dedicated to going above and beyond for her students, striving to ensure they have positive memories of school and a strong rapport with law enforcement. Her passion for her role is evident in her efforts to foster a supportive and safe environment for the young people she serves.

School Resource Deputy Doug Roberson
WMS is beyond blessed to have Deputy Doug Roberson. His resume’ is extremely impressive!
SRD Doug Roberson came out of retirement to join Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Whitwell Middle School fall of 2024.
He has 25 years of military experience from training abroad and here in America. 🇺🇸

School Resource Deputy Lee Pickett
School Resource Deputy (SRD) Lee Pickett transitioned from South Pittsburg Police Officer to WHS SRD in October 2024. SRD Pickett has served 6 years with the Tennessee Army National Guard with his field being Geospatial Intelligence Imagery Analyst, before deciding to join law enforcement in 2017, at which time he joined MCSD as a correctional deputy. Aspiring to work on the road, he was given the opportunity by the South Pittsburg Police Department. He felt drawn to the SRD position at Whitwell High School and rejoined MCSD.

School Resource Deputy Adam Conley
Deputy Adam Conley has been serving as a School Resource Deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) since 2018. His motivation for taking on this role stems from his desire to positively interact with the youth of the county, inspired by the positive role models he encountered in law enforcement during his own childhood. Adam began his law enforcement journey as an auxiliary officer for the Town of Jasper. After completing his basic law enforcement training at Cleveland State in 2006, he worked with the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office before returning to Jasper in 2014. Throughout his career, Deputy Conley has obtained several certifications, including School Resource Officer, D.A.R.E. instructor, A.R.I.D.E., and basic Spanish for law enforcement. His commitment to leaving a positive impact on the lives of those he encounters, particularly the youth, exemplifies his dedication to building strong relationships within the community and fostering a supportive environment for future generations.

Deputy Charles “PJ” Dickerson Follows in His Father’s Footsteps.
Inspired by his father’s unwavering commitment to serving the community, Deputy Charles “PJ” Dickerson has followed a similar path in law enforcement. Dickerson’s distinguished career began with the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia, where he diligently served his community. Seeking new challenges, he then spent a couple of years with the South Pittsburg Police Department before an opportunity arose that aligned with his ultimate goal. In 2024, Dickerson was thrilled to join the team at Jasper Middle School as a School Resource Deputy. This role allows him to fulfill his lifelong aspiration of working in law enforcement while also mentoring the youth in his care. Dickerson is eager to spearhead the DARE program, using his expertise to educate and guide the next generation. With a passion for community engagement and a deep understanding of the importance of positive role models, Dickerson is poised to make a lasting impact on the students he serves.

School Resource Deputy Dale Winters
Deputy Dale Winters has been a dedicated figure in law enforcement since 1993. He began his career with the Stevenson Police Department, where he spent a decade rising through the ranks from patrolman to captain. After his time in Alabama, Deputy Winters moved to Tennessee, working with the South Pittsburg Police Department from 2003 to 2005, before serving as an officer for the Town of Kimball for four years. He returned to South Pittsburg in 2005 and served as Chief of Police until 2009. In 2015, Deputy Winters joined the McMinn County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) as a School Resource Deputy. His extensive experience in various law enforcement roles is complemented by a deep-rooted love for the profession, which runs throughout his family. Deputy Winters is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff in the schools he serves, making a positive impact in the community.

School Resource Deputy Brandon Price
Deputy Brandon Price joined the McMinn County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) in the summer of 2015 after nearly five years of service with the South Pittsburg Police Department. Before becoming a deputy, he had experience as a dispatcher for MCSD, the South Pittsburg Police Department, and part-time for the Signal Mountain Police Department. Brandon completed his basic law enforcement certification in 2010 and has since obtained additional certifications as a School Resource Officer and D.A.R.E. instructor. His desire to give back to his community drives his commitment to law enforcement, and he sees this career path as an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those he serves. Deputy Price’s dedication and experience reflect his passion for community engagement and public service.

School Resource Deputy Marlin Hobbs
Deputy Marlin Hobbs joined the Marion County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) in 2022 as a School Resource Deputy, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles in law enforcement. Before arriving in Marion County, Deputy Hobbs served for 12 years with the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department. His diverse background also includes two years with the Tracy City Police Department and another two years with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department. Since joining MCSD, Deputy Hobbs has established himself as a valuable asset within the school environment, contributing to the safety and well-being of students and staff. His extensive experience and dedication to fostering a secure learning atmosphere make him an integral part of the community he serves.

In the Marion County School system, our School Resource Deputies (SRDs) play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Their responsibilities extend beyond just monitoring the hallways. They are the guardians of our school environment, ensuring a smooth and secure drop-off and pick-up process. Each day, they verify that everyone entering our schools is authorized and meets the necessary requirements, maintaining security at every access point. To stay sharp and effective, our SRDs are committed to ongoing training, including the Tennessee POST training and annual sessions focused on school safety and youth engagement. When they’re not stationed at their assigned schools, they take on their duties as road deputies, further enhancing community safety. Many of our SRDs are also DARE certified, empowering them to connect with students through essential anti-drug and bullying prevention classes.
